Exhibit: Brenda Beattie’s Shades of Ink
Brenda Beattie’s pen & ink sketches will be on display in the Almonte Library's Corridor Gallery from May 16 to July 8, with all pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds will go towards library programs. Born and raised in Banff National Park, Brenda’s love and deep respect for the natural world was nurtured from a young age. While in high school, Brenda attended classes given by Holly Middleton, at the Banff School of Fine Arts (now the Banff Centre of the Arts). After high school, Brenda attended the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson, B.C., as well as studying under Ilda Lubane at the University of Alberta. In 1991 Brenda and her family moved to Ottawa, where she met her mentor, Eleanor Milne (the then Dominion Sculptor of Canada). Continually learning, she has taken classes at the Ottawa School of Art from such artists as Gord Mackenzie and Blair Paul.

Jun 22 to Jul 29. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, George Horan's paintings are inspired by the terrain of the Newfoundland coastal landscape. “These paintings explore the ephemeral and the permanent in life. The boundary between the two elements is often ambiguous as is also the case in our environment and in ourselves. The paintings in this exhibition are all of places that speak to me of their struggles.” The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

Jun 15-Jul 22. The show title “srce i ruku” means “heart and hand” in the Croatian language. The 2 paintings in the exhibition pay homage to the artist’s French-Canadian & Croatian heritage, and were completed in Montreal shortly after the artist returned from an artist residency in Croatia. The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

Exhibit: Brenda Beattie’s Shades of Ink
Brenda Beattie’s pen & ink sketches will be on display in the Almonte Library's Corridor Gallery from May 16 to July 8, with all pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds will go towards library programs. Born and raised in Banff National Park, Brenda’s love and deep respect for the natural world was nurtured from a young age. While in high school, Brenda attended classes given by Holly Middleton, at the Banff School of Fine Arts (now the Banff Centre of the Arts). After high school, Brenda attended the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson, B.C., as well as studying under Ilda Lubane at the University of Alberta. In 1991 Brenda and her family moved to Ottawa, where she met her mentor, Eleanor Milne (the then Dominion Sculptor of Canada). Continually learning, she has taken classes at the Ottawa School of Art from such artists as Gord Mackenzie and Blair Paul.

Brenda Beattie’s pen & ink sketches will be on display in the Almonte Library's Corridor Gallery from May 16 to July 8, with all pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds will go towards library programs. Born and raised in Banff National Park, Brenda’s love and deep respect for the natural world was nurtured from a young age. While in high school, Brenda attended classes given by Holly Middleton, at the Banff School of Fine Arts (now the Banff Centre of the Arts). After high school, Brenda attended the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson, B.C., as well as studying under Ilda Lubane at the University of Alberta. In 1991 Brenda and her family moved to Ottawa, where she met her mentor, Eleanor Milne (the then Dominion Sculptor of Canada). Continually learning, she has taken classes at the Ottawa School of Art from such artists as Gord Mackenzie and Blair Paul.

Jun 22 to Jul 29. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, George Horan's paintings are inspired by the terrain of the Newfoundland coastal landscape. “These paintings explore the ephemeral and the permanent in life. The boundary between the two elements is often ambiguous as is also the case in our environment and in ourselves. The paintings in this exhibition are all of places that speak to me of their struggles.” The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

The 2 paintings in the exhibition pay homage to the artist’s French-Canadian & Croatian heritage, and were completed in Montreal shortly after the artist returned from an artist residency in Croatia. Exhibit: Brenda Beattie’s Shades of Ink
Brenda Beattie’s pen & ink sketches will be on display in the Almonte Library's Corridor Gallery from May 16 to July 8, with all pieces are for sale with a portion of the proceeds will go towards library programs. Born and raised in Banff National Park, Brenda’s love and deep respect for the natural world was nurtured from a young age. While in high school, Brenda attended classes given by Holly Middleton, at the Banff School of Fine Arts (now the Banff Centre of the Arts). After high school, Brenda attended the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson, B.C., as well as studying under Ilda Lubane at the University of Alberta. In 1991 Brenda and her family moved to Ottawa, where she met her mentor, Eleanor Milne (the then Dominion Sculptor of Canada). Continually learning, she has taken classes at the Ottawa School of Art from such artists as Gord Mackenzie and Blair Paul.

The 22 concrete columns of the Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery (part of the MVTM) made an impression and has integrally informed the work he has created for this gallery installation. He sees forests as mysterious, as they invite us into their depths to navigate mazes of trees, assorted foliage, and meandering – often disappearing – paths.

Exhibition: Kai Chan's In the Forest
Jul 16-Sep 17, Tue-Sat, 1-4pm. The 22 concrete columns of the Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery (part of the MVTM) made an impression and has integrally informed the work he has created for this gallery installation. He sees forests as mysterious, as they invite us into their depths to navigate mazes of trees, assorted foliage, and meandering – often disappearing – paths.

Exhibition: Mirana Zuger's srce i ruku
Jun 15-Jul 22. The show title “srce i ruku” means “heart and hand” in the Croatian language. The 2 paintings in the exhibition pay homage to the artist’s French-Canadian & Croatian heritage, and were completed in Montreal shortly after the artist returned from an artist residency in Croatia. The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

Leaves & twigs are suspended from the ceiling in a “Twig Rain”, river rocks & found objects form a “Rust River” as water & time transform rocks & oxidize metals, & a slice of a pine tree is juxtaposed with shards of glass.

Jun 22 to Jul 29. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, George Horan's paintings are inspired by the terrain of the Newfoundland coastal landscape. “These paintings explore the ephemeral and the permanent in life. The boundary between the two elements is often ambiguous as is also the case in our environment and in ourselves. The paintings in this exhibition are all of places that speak to me of their struggles.” The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

Jun 22 to Jul 29. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, George Horan's paintings are inspired by the terrain of the Newfoundland coastal landscape. “These paintings explore the ephemeral and the permanent in life. The boundary between the two elements is often ambiguous as is also the case in our environment and in ourselves. The paintings in this exhibition are all of places that speak to me of their struggles.” The exhibition can be seen in-person during our regular Gallery hours: Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm, Sun 11am-4pm.

The 22 concrete columns of the Norah Rosamond Hughes Gallery (part of the MVTM) made an impression and has integrally informed the work he has created for this gallery installation. He sees forests as mysterious, as they invite us into their depths to navigate mazes of trees, assorted foliage, and meandering – often disappearing – paths.

Drawn to the looser energy of painting outdoors, Karen Haines uses small wood panels and a limited colour palette to quickly sketch the patterns of light and dark. Traveling throughout Alberta, and contending with all the challenges of painting outdoors, her works capture direct light, reflected light, and diffuse overcast light.
