Hike for Hub Hospice Palliative Care

Please join Hub Hospice Palliative Care at the third annual Mississippi Mills Hike for Hospice on Sunday, May 3 at the Mill of Kintail. Registration is from 1 to 3 p.m. The official kickoff is shortly after 1 and the walk itself will finish by 4 p.m. All funds raised in Mississippi Mills will go to Hub Hospice Palliative Care.

Pledge forms are available at the Hub in Almonte or online at http://www.hubhospice.com/fundraising-events/.

Lanark County Hike for Hospice

Come out on Sunday, May 3 to support hospice care in Lanark County. The hike begins at Crystal Palace at Drummond Street Bridge in Perth. Registration is from noon. The hike is at 1pm, and a silent auction follows at 2pm. To register and start fundraising, go to chpca.convio.net/CommunityHomeSupportLanarkCounty.

Hike for Hospice Palliative Care is a unique national fundraising event held across Canada that brings together organizations working collectively in hospice palliative care to raise funds and awareness in their community!

Letter to the Editor on GM apples

This month's Letter to the Editor touches on genetically modified foods. It references a 2012 survey commissioned by the BC Fruit Growers' Association and the Federation of Quebec Apple Growers which showed that 69% of Canadians didn't want the GM apples in question approved.
