Her paintings are influenced by her observations of people and relationships in everyday life, most commonly by themes of family. The new body of work in Let’s Be Alone Together is inspired by a lyric from the song Waiting for the Miracle by Leonard Cohen (co-written with Sharon Robinson) from the album The Future (1992).

Masks and Art at MERA
A “cruise and reuse show” by the MERA art circle, who have made art using found objects from the reuse. Another special feature will be the optional ‘masquerade’ . Visitors and exhibitors will be invited to come to the exhibition wearing a mask’. Large or small, a face or head covering, but it must conform to the health rules and cover the mouth and nose. There is also a children’s event planned, to paint a large mural. MERA will comply with all health rules and social distancing. **If the lockdown is continued after May 22 we will postpone the event until June.

May 26 - Jul 2. An intriguing installation by this Ottawa-based artist, using art to explore Canadian identity in the 21st century. Kells was born to Lebanese Canadians who both had parents who immigrated to Canada at different times. The installation can be viewed virtually until the current lockdown is lifted, at which time doors again to in-person viewing. Please note that none of the artifacts/objects in this installation are for sale.

The artist also seeks out the solitude of the ocean and natural spaces such as Stanley Park that are within the city or a short drive away. “Canada is a place where people and nature live in harmony”, he notes.
